The term

What does Handmassage mean?

A hand massage is much more than a technique for relaxing muscles – it is one of the most intimate forms of human touch. The hands are highly sensitive areas of the body, where not only tension can be released, but also deep emotions can surface.

At my massage studio "Handkontakt," the healing power of touch is the central focus. A gentle, mindful hand massage can convey a sense of security, reduce stress, and release emotional blockages. Many people find touch on the hands particularly comforting and reassuring, as they are directly connected to our nervous system.

In addition to its emotional effects, hand massage promotes circulation, relaxes the joints, and helps relieve stiffness or overuse. Especially for those who work extensively with their hands or experience high levels of stress, this type of massage can provide profound, holistic relief.

In a nutshell

  • Gentle touch with deep emotional impact
  • Releases tension and can unlock emotional blockages
  • Promotes circulation and joint mobility
  • Perceived as particularly soothing and comforting
  • At "Handkontakt" massage studio, the healing power of touch is central

Questions & answers

Häufige Fragen

Which areas are included in a hand massage?

A hand massage may include the palms, the backs of the hands, individual fingers and the area around the wrist. Typical movements are gentle strokes, small circles and careful kneading of softer areas. Fingers are not forcefully pulled or overstretched.

Is every hand massage a hand reflexology treatment?

No. An ordinary hand massage focuses on the hands themselves and the experience of pleasant touch. Hand reflexology additionally follows proposed associations between hand zones and internal organs. These associations are not an established anatomical map of the body.
